Sustainability

High-quality PE provision will be sustained through the purchase of resources which will fulfil requirements for PE in the future. These resources, such as new balls and games, are available during break times and after school clubs, as well as PE lessons, which promotes PE throughout the whole day. The new resources bought for break times, also link to the curriculum to allow the exposure to the different sports throughout the day.

By signing up with the Sports Partnership, it ensures that all children are able to access competitions outside of school, where they are able to apply their skills which they have learnt during the high-quality PE provision at school. Also, through this partnership, Sport Leaders will be trained in school so that they can lead different sporting activities and competitions throughout the school day, which will be accessible to all children from each year group. This will allow all children the chance to be active and take part in intra-school competitions. The Sport Leaders will then train the next group of leaders, passing on what they have learnt and providing the school and children with more leaders who are able to lead activities and competitions through the day to more children.

Sustainability of teaching is being achieved through the access of planning from the PE subject lead, which is progressive and available for all teachers to use. Training is also readily available from the Sports Partnership for any area of PE which teachers may need support with. They also have the opportunity to team teach which other experienced teachers/sports coaches. CPD and thorough assessment tools will also be provided from Progress in PE and this will allow all teachers to track their classes sporting ability within lessons, quickly and effectively.

The children will take part in a yearly Healthy Lifestyles Week where they will be given the opportunity to apply all the skills that they have learnt throughout the year in PE, access a range of different sports and activities and learn about how to engage in a healthy life.
