Cross Country (27.9.2018)
I would like to start by saying a huge well done to all the children who took part in the event, especially the Year 3 children who are new to Key stage 2 and all of the sporting competitions.
The competition was much more enjoyable this year as it was brought forward, which meant that the children were no longer running in wet and muddy conditions. However, this did not stop some children losing their shoes through utter eagerness to win! We saw amazing pace from Holly, Ethan and Oliver and fantastic skills for running from William, who didn’t take part last year because he forgot his PE kit, well done for remembering this year! As in previous years, Casey was so eager to beat his football friend for 1st place that he physically gave it everything he had to finish first again for the 3rd time in a row. He threw himself over the finishing line and collapsed in a heap!
At the end of the races, there was some spare time before we had to catch the bus so Mr Clift challenged the children to a sprinting competition- it was fair to say that even though there was a little cheating going on (surprisingly not from the adult!) Mr Clift deservedly won!
Congratulations to those children who took part and successfully got through to the final at Preston Park: Isabelle, Amy, William, Jay, Ethan, Holly, Laurence, Oliver and Casey.
