Year 2 morning at Preston Park

In October the Year 2 children spent an enjoyable morning at Preston Park. They fed the ducks, identified different trees, kicked the autumn leaves and had a little play in the park. When the children came back to school, they wrote all about their experiences and did some beautiful leaf rubbings.

Preston to Paris for Macmillan

To help our fundraising efforts for the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, the children, staff and parents of Preston Primary are cycling a huge 840km on a number of exercise bikes, the distance between our school and Paris. The virtual journey started on Monday and we hope to arrive by Friday. The bikes are available through out the school day if you would like to come in and help us…

Cross-Country 2014

The conditions when we arrived to take part in the Cross-country event were absolutely perishing! Nevertheless, the children warmed up for their run in great spirit and very little moaning was to be heard (apart from Mrs Riggall who was freezing)! Conditions were tough as the ground was extremely wet, muddy and very slippy but great efforts were made by all of our entrants to ensure they finished the challenging…

Stig of the Dump

On Monday 3rd February Image Musical Theatre came to work with Key Stage 1 and 2 to produce Stig of the Dump – The Musical. “As said by the author Clive King himself, Image Musical Theatre delivers one of the best adaptations of this wonderful modern children’s classic. Clive King’s story of Barney and his Neolithic friend Stig has been a firm favourite with children and adults since its first…

Eden Camp Year 4/5 Trip

Eden Camp When we got to Eden Camp, we assembled into our groups. We went into the first hut with our adults. Surprisingly, the girls were terrified of the moving dummies. Leah was the most scared girl in the blackout and it was very funny! We sat in an air raid shelter and heard the siren. When we went in the play area, we  played a war game. Overall, the day…

Year 1 Pirate Day

Year 1 children dressed up as pirates for the day and discovered what life was like aboard a pirate ship. The day was filled with lots of activities and included children walking the plank!

Butterfly World

On the 26th March, Year 2 went to Butterfly World at Preston Park. We walked around and we saw butterflies everywhere! After that, we saw a chrysalis, also known as a cocoon. My favourite part was seeing the meerkats because they are cute. -Izzy Turner Y2

Roman Day

On the 11th December, we had a Roman Day. First, we did picture colouring and then we made mosaics. After that, we had a sword fight and then we did the turtle to defend ourselves. Next, we did a march around the school. Finally, we had a delicious banquet. We all had a brilliant day! – William Pickard Y3

Green Day

What a great success ‘Green Day’ was! Thank you to all those who contributed in any way – from the baking of cakes, to the running of stalls, to the donation of some wonderful raffle prizes. Some of the cakes were quite spectacular! The School Council worked hard to help prepare games and activities for the day in addition to serving drinks and biscuits during break times. On the Friday evening, I took…
