Special Thank you

As a school we need to say a huge thank you to Joe Parker, the stock controller supporting communities and charities at TESCO. We received an email some time ago and the PTA wrote to Joe to see if TESCO would be able to help with anything towards our Summer Fair. We received a phone call from Joe this week to say he was going to pop down with some…

It was a perishing, cold morning on Wednesday 21st January nevertheless; it didn’t put our Preston Primary representatives off taking part in ‘The Great Race’! All of children who competed showed true grit and determination in order to complete the challenging course. The conditions weren’t easy, as the ground was extremely wet, muddy and very slippy but everyone did a sterling job of battling through to achieve their target of…

In Year 5, we had a visit from Emma, an Anglo-Saxon. She dressed children up in clothing from Saxon times and showed the class weapons, tools, artefacts and even had children…

Year 6 Play in a Day

On Monday 3rd November the Y6 class took part in a ‘Play in a Day’. This was lead by by a professional theatre company and involved a very intense day of word learning and practical rehearsal for all concerned. The result was fantastic as, towards the end of the day, the Y6 class performed to the rest of the school a play called ‘We are not amused’ – linked to…

Children in Need 2014

Onesies were worn all day by children and staff alike – and there were some very ‘alternative’ examples on view! The School Council worked really hard to plan and organise the day’s events. At break time, they sold biscuits, buns, cakes and drinks whilst a superbly hand drawn cardboard cut out of Pudsey was covered with coins (twice over!). After school, as part of a ‘starter for ten’ project, a…

I just wanted to say “well done” for this year’s year 6 sats results! They were amazing and I know that it would have taken sheer hard work from the children and teachers to enable your pupils to achieve with the unrealistic expectations set the Gove & Morgan camp.
Thank you for the report it was a pleasure to read and we greatly appreciate all that you done for her this year.
