'Through the Century' Summer Fair 2007

23rd June 2007

At 2.55 three hours of thunder and lightening and torrential rain finally laid off, so at 3.00 the gates opened, and still people came to see what was on offer.

Choice a plenty, you could ‘Shot the Snot’, Rodeo, be a Gladiator, have your face painted and that’s just the start. Also cakes, sweets, tom bola and plant stalls.

Refreshments were provided by the YMCA crew with bar and barbeque. If that’s not enough, fruit covered in chocolate from the fountain for desert.

The centenary cake (complete with 100 candles) was cut, and the lucky pupils got to take part in the ‘Bugsy Malone’ custard pie throwing match.

The whole day managed to raise just over £1000

A massive thank you to all that braved the weather, turned up to support us, and join in with our Centenary celebrations. See you again next year.

Three former pupils now living in Yarm, Bradford and the Yorkshire Dales travelled to Preston School, despite the weather, to join in the centenary celebrations.
Paul Lewis, Andrew Lowther and Philip Lewis – were all pupils at Preston Primary School in the 1970’s.
