Preston Children's Centre - After School Club

We are open Monday to Friday from 3:00pm until 6:00pm.
We take children from the age of 3 to 11 years old.
All children are very welcome to our club.
If your child has specific needs, please call in for a coffee and a chat. I'm sure we will be able to provide you with the service you require.

What do we do in After School Club?

We pick up the younger children from their classes and bring them to our After School Centre, which is located on the school site. Children hang up their coats and bags and sit around the table with their friends and have juice and a biscuit. The older children make their own way over to our centre and also have juice and a biscuit.

The children are marked in on their arrival and signed out when collected.

At 4:30pm our children will be given a light snack, just to keep them going until teatime. This could be toast, a piece of fruit or maybe a sandwich and a crispy cake, as they are very busy people and it helps to stop tummies rumbling.

After the register has been taken, the children can chose from a wide range of activities. These include

• Board games
• Drawing
• Play Station
• Construction
• Cars and car mats
• Dressing up
• House corner
• Post Office Area
• Arts and Crafts

We always promote healthy eating through snacks and activities planned

Our kitchen area teaches the children basic cookery skills. It has been built with the children in mind so it is at the correct height for them.

We make use of the schools ICT suite twice a week. We have a lovely outdoor play area and plenty of outdoor space for our children to run around.

The outside area is very secure, gates are always closed and children are always supervised when they are outside.

We are not a club that stands back and watches the children play, we like to play too. Although many of our children think we’re mad, we all have great fun, and at the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about!

We also have discos, treasure hunts, snooker, air hockey, arts and crafts, as well as outdoor sports equipment including footballs, basketball, tennis, hockey and lots more.
