Centenary 1907 - 2007Celebrating the first 100 years, here’s how we did it....… School trip to BeamishOn 22nd June we shall be taking the whole school to Beamish Museum so that they may experience life, as it was, when the school first opened. Centenary TreeA wrought iron Centenary Tree, designed and built by the blacksmiths at Preston Hall Museum. This now decorates the entrance to our new hall. We are offering the opportunity to have a leaf placed on the tree. It will be inscribed with the child's name and the years that they have been connected with the school. This is also available to past pupils. We should have an order form available for download here soon.
BBC BusYears 5 and 6 worked on a number of radio projects interviewing local members of the public. Examples of the work will be available here soon.
Victorian DayOut with the new and on with the old. Pupils and teachers went back in time to a school day with a twist. Dressing up was a must, with a visit from the Victorian Society, the children experienced first hand life in Victorian times. No sign of the cane though!!
Centenary Exhibition
Giving local people and past pupils a chance to look inside our new hall, and
spend time going through the decades. A massive amount of work went into these
displays of photos and artefacts from times gone by. There's been lots of
'that's me there', 'that's so and so', 'I can remember that' and 'oh what was
their name again?'
